Donald Healey once told me that he thought a pit stop type
competition should be a part of every big Healey event and
that he would sponsor it if anyone was interested. I think
it might have been tried once at a West Coast meet, but I
can't remember. At a Healey Week event once, we did have a
oil drip off, spark plug changing & a couple other
          mechanically oriented contests.

Pit stop competitions are great for interclub competition, since you can set
them up to use a team. Types of things that have to be done -- Spark plug
has to be removed and replaced,
wheel has to be removed and replaced,, several different sizes of nuts have
to be placed on bolts, tire pressure has to be checked and gauge shown to
judge, the top (hood) has to be mounted (have heard of this being done with
a time limit; after two minutes a hose is turned on the team to simulate
showers -- focuses the mind. )
If the club doesn't want to do this on a real car; a reasonable welder can
make up a buck with studes, a spline, a spark plug threaded hole, etc.
What about creeper races, or creeper polo?
