Ross:  I think the nicest harnesses are PVC with braided coverings on all
the wires in the appropriate color codes and the harness itself in the
black with white markings.  I think it will cost more to cover your harness
and be less durable than if you took your loss, sold your harness to a good
driver, and bought a proper full braided harness.  They should be available
for $300 or so, maybe $50 more or less depending on where you find it.
I've even seen harnesses advertised with the steel conduit over the main
trunk and coil wires.
        If you can live without the fabric cover, I would use what you
have.  If your pockets are deep enough go for a new harness.
