David -
Yes - buy your parts after the machine work. They will tell you what
oversize pistons and rings to get to match what they have done. If this
is the first rebore, it will probably go +.020". The crankshaft will
probably be -.010" if it isn't scored and if this is the first turning
on it. Get some Plastigage to use upon reassembly to verify proper main
and rod bearing clearances. Would definitely have those parts mentioned
magnafluxed - your shop can also do the block. Other things you might
want to have done are align boring of the block and balancing of the
engine. Have the shop press on the new pistons if yours has the press
fit gudgeon (one of my favorite words) pins. Have them check the top
surface of the block for flatness and smoothness and re-mill if needed.
The same applies to the head. If you are replacing the cam, use new
lifters. If reusing the old cam, make sure the lifters are good and put
the lifters and pushrods back in the same positions.

Here's what I paid a couple of years ago -
Boring the cylinders - $60.00 (included vat dipping and magnafluxing)
        Turning the crank - $40.00
Balancing the engine - $100.00 (crank, pistons, rods, flywheel, clutch)
Pressing on the new gudgeons - $20.00
Pressing in the new cam bearings - $15.00

Speaking of John Twist - get his Tech Book - has good tips on rebuilding
the A and B blocks - what passages to clean, what holes to retap with
what size tap, etc.
