Ok, a few of you know about the Internet Relay Chat rooms that are for MGs
and British Cars but I will update everyone on them anyway:
====================================
MG and BritCar Chat:

These Chat Rooms were setup by Kai Radicke:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Windows or Macintosh (skip MAC instructions if using a PC)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are using a Macintosh Computer you can download a Chat Program from
one of the following sites:

Netscape Chat - freeware http://home.netscape.com
Global Chat - freeware http://www.globalchat.com
(Instuctions for these 2 programs will appear on this page in the future)
You will need to setup the chat program to connect to this server:
irc.erinet.com (Erinet) and the name of the chat room is #mgs for MGs and
#britcars for British Cars. We meet:

Thursdays at 8:00 EST and 5:00 Pacific Time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
As some of you may know, there is a MG Chat (and BritCar) Room on the
internet. If you would like to join the MG or Britcar Chats, we will meet
Thursdays at 8:00 EST, five o'clock in California. I have included the
instructions in this email to help you set the program up and to log on.

1. Download MIRC from http://www.mirc.co.uk. They have programs available
for Win95 and Win3.1(1), MAC guys use one of the programs listed above.
Make a new folder called MIRC in your 'C' Drive and when your browser
prompts you for the destination folder this is the folder you want it to be
downloaded into (MIRC on C drive). The downloading will take about 8
minutes with a 14.4 modem.

2. Using Win95 Explorer or Filemanager (win 3.1), open folder MIRC from
your C drive. In this folder there should be a IRC icon, called "mirc46t"
or "mirc46s" (or if you have verison 4.7 it would be called "mirc47t" or
"mirc47s". Now double click this icon to start the installation process for
MIRC. MIRC will ask you if you want to do 2 things, IGNORE THIS AND JUST
CLICK INSTALL. It will now install itself.

3. The program should be stored in a folder called "Mirc" in your harddrive
now click the MIRC icon to start the program.

4. You will then see the Registration Screen just ignore it and click
cancel. Then you will see the Mirc Setup window with a bunch of names and
places. Click the add button, and in Description box type Erinet and in the
IRC server box type "irc.erinet.com" with out the quotation marks.
Then click add. Now fill out the boxes on the original screen with your
personal info (realname, nickname, email, alternate name).

5. Once you have completed that step, make sure the Erinet text is the only
name highlighted in the list and click the connect button. Once connected
another window will appear in that window type -- #mgs or #britcars for
your interests MGs or British Cars. Then hit the join key. And start
typing. IF someone is in the room withyou you will get a reply back in
about 15 seconds (unless they are asleep).

If you are unable to connect to the Erinet server use: AOHELL,
irc.aohell.com and just substitute the AOhell info in for the Erinet info.

Remember 8:00 EST or 5:00 Pacific Time on Thursday nights.

Good Luck and we look forward to chating with you.
