Hehe-I love these ones, makes one proud to be British -
cwt=hundredweight (c, latin for 100 - wt. for weight- clear so far??)
The trouble is,a hundred has basically nothing to do with it..There are
twenty hundredweights in a ton ( a long ton of 2240lb -that is as opposed
to a metric ton,of 1000kg or ashort ton of 2000lbor a short-wet ton which
is another hue of equuine...) and there are 112lb in a hundredweight, are
we getting there yet? -
All in all the kerb weight is a little short of a ton(18.5cwt) unless you
have a '75 model which weighs right on a ton being about 200lb heavier
than a chrome bumper model.
Now...
Who wants to discuss roods, poles and perches, or deals battens and
boards..!?
