I have my speedometer out of the car while I am lubricating the the
cable. I noticed that the right-angle drive seems to be pretty stiff.
Is there any way I can disassemble it to clean it out and lube it? There
seems to be a dime-sized cover on one side that has a notch, but I can't
get the cover out. Any hints, or am I better off just soaking the whole
assembly?

While I am at it, when I drive, the needle on the speedometer fluctuates
over a 20 mph range. While I have the speedo out and on my desk, is
there any area I could clean/oil to have a 'normal' speedometer?

Thanks in advance,
