Bates, 
 I saw your (vicarious) posting on the MG's list and never having heard of a
Gilbern I reached for my Brit Car bible and sure enough there was a full
page article with pictures.  The book I refer to is "The Complete Catalogue
of British Cars".  It has production numbers and specs for every model of
every manufacturer of production cars from the late 1800's to 1974 and
appendices containg those that didn't qualify as production. I believe it's
out of print now.
 
If you'd like I'll scan and fax you the info and pictures.
