Believe it or not but the "REAL throwout ball bearing" has a couple of
disadvantages. The first is the cost, $54.95 vs $12.95 for the Carbon
Type (Source VB catalog MG.33 Spring 1997) The second is that the "REAL
throwout ball bearing is prone to failure due to friction and heat
buildup during constant spinning. 

This can be solved by the addition of a Clutch Hydraulic Clearance Kit
available for $64.10.
