That is true.  The fact that several filters from the same manufacturer
have the same exterior size, thread size, and gasket diameter doesn't mean
they are all suitable for the same application.  Some will have
anti-drainback valves, some will not.  Some will have built-in filter
bypass valves, some will not (and those that do may not all be set to
allow bypass at the same pressure).  Some filter smaller particles than
others.  And so on.
