Been there... broke the windshield.  Be carefull, drill off only the
heads of the rivets using a larger bit then the rivet.  You can then
extract the shaft of the rivit.  I do not recommend using screws, just
buy a low cost rivit tool at Home Depot or your hardware store ( you
will need it on a future project) and rivets to fit the hole.

Again be carefull, but if not, replace all the rivets while you have the
windshield frame off changing the glass you broke.

Note: this would be a damned dull site without the non-LBC "bovine
scat".  My vote is to leave it in, if we can not be technical and have
some fun at the same time, why drive an LBC.
