If these clips are the ones that secure the wheel cylinder to the
backing plate, they probably dont have any holes in them. They are
sort of like a giant spring-steel e-clip, rather than a circlip.
The best way I've found to snap these !@#$%ers in place is to line
the clip up behind the wheel cylinder stub, then seat one ear in the
groove on the wheel cylinder. (the clip should be crooked, with one
ear in the groove, and the other touching the stub of the cylinder)
Using a socket( and emitting loud grunting noises for effect) force
the other ear onto the end of the cylinder and into the groove from
the back. It should pop into place with a gratifying *snap*. You
may need to pull the ear 'out' slightly with a needle nose vice-grip
to persuade the thing over the end of the cylinder.
If you try to force them on from the side, or from the top, they fold
up and snap in two pieces at the top of the clip. Grrrr...
