The amount of gas left "in the line" of the previous octane blend
selected is dependent upon the location of the manifold that mixes the
proportion of the low and high octane gas.
Some applications mix at the pump itself, and some mix in the ground
near the tank outlets....
Best course of action....ask the owner of the station where you buy most
of your gas. And don't expect the pump jockey to know. You'll find that
you'll get to recognize different types of pumps, and know without asking.
The newest systems use only two tanks and two grades of fuel.
