If you're compression is 120 on all four or not varying by more than say 5
- 10 psi, then you can just leave the engine alone for a while.  The oil
ring has gone out and needs replacement, and therefore, the overhaul is in
the future, but you can hold it off for a while.  As long as you keep
filling it with oil, no harm will come to your engine.  You'll just burn
more and more oil.
