in the last list there was a question about wabasto sunroofs & were they
still available. About 3 years ago, there were adds in Hemmings by a
company called the Canadian Sunroof Co. that claimed to have obtained
the remaining stock of these sunroofs from the company as it went out of
buisness. I attempted to purchase one at that time, but was told no more
of the proper size were left. About 8 months after that experience, i
received an add from Seven Enterprises showing 1 remaining sliding
fabric sunroof for a BGT, & ordered it. As it turned out, it was not a
webasco, but a slightly modernized version, made by a company named
Donmar. I have had this in service for 3 years (no garage) and it is
great. Goes through automatic car washes without a leak. From the
outside, it is identical to the factory version. Inside, the trim is
black rubberized material, or a self trim option that i used, instead of
the chrome trim pieces used in the factory versions. Donmar will not
sell direct to us, but distributes through auto upholstry shops. a call
to them in Florida should get you a local distributer 800-786-7663 as of
1992. the correct size for a BGT is 30 x 30, pn SWF-3030, & it includes
a fold-out wind deflector. This is a high quality kit, & can be
installed by a competent lbc owner with enough guts to cut a very large
hole in the roof of his/her car.
no interest in the co., usual
disclaimers, etc. jim stuart
