Scumbags AGAIN

Unfortunately for me, the view that these scumbags are not driving
around looking for my car has proved wrong. The second night the car
was back under the carport (fitted with security light and motion
detector) the bastards levered a quarterlight open, wound down the
window and wrenched out the radio - minus its front panel which was in
the house. They also levered open the glovebox, presumably looking for
the front panel.

Damage appears to have been limited to half a quarterlight hinge and a
door mirror plinth, plus the loss of the radio, of course. The radio
was nothing special, just a Halfords (UK motoring shop) radio-cassette.
It had digital tuning, but its difficult to get one that hasn't these
days. I had only bought a relatively cheap one because of anything else
would have been wasted given the wind noise over 60mph.

I am now waiting for a house break-in from someone looking for the front
panel. Unfortunately the house is going to be unoccupied for two weeks
while we are in France in the roadster, the V8 will be wheel clamped in
the garage which is connected to the house alarm. God knows what we
shall find (or NOT find) on our return.

I've been investigating insurance-approved alarms and been told by more
than one supplier "Oh yes sir, the alarm will sound if any door is
opened or a window is smashed". When I said they just lever out glass
without breaking it they seem surprised.
