I've never had a hard top but I have had occasion to look for good paint
protectors. Find a local shop that specializes in pick-up truck goodies and
truck canopies (caps). They will no doubt hav a self adhesive foam strip
that's used to protect the top of the truck box when a canopy is fitted.
Just peel of the protective tape and apply to the underside of the hard top.
Should work.........
