This was done by an English company, using a shortened Range Rover chassis and
a new
bodyshell. They wanted to make a production run of it, asking IIRC GBP12.000
for one. The car
was featured on BBC's Top Gear (in 1995?), which started by showing the top
half of the car
plowing through a cow field, then zooming out to show the whole car. I never
heard from the
project again.
My ideal MG 4WD would be more of the BMW-X or Audi Quattro kind, not for
terrain but for great
grip on curvy and slippery roads.
