When in Dallas last year attending a small british car show at trader's
village, my friend (who has a 1600 MGA) was walking through the flea
market only to discover the exact 1/18 scale model that you just
mentioned! Yes, it is the only MGA one I have seen of that brand
anywhere. I recall it to be a 1600 version not a 1500.

I hope you find one, too!
