The Jowett Jupiter is a beautifull little 2-seat roadster and was made
by Bradford based Jowett Co. It was based on the Javelin saloon and
almost all aluminium. The engine was a horizontally-opposed 1486cc
engine and a 4speed gearbox. It gave about 62bhp and a top speed of
90mph. It was really introduced to the public in 1950. It was deemed a
luxury tourer rather than a sports car. Two variations were built, the
Mark1 (736 units) and the Mark1a (95 units). And it all ended in 1954.
