Not many people now about Ian Dury and the BlockHeads, don't think his
stuff would go over well at one of these events.....

I was there all day both days and don't remember this! Could date back to
college there was a guy on the dorm floor that played bagpipes, in the
winter he would crank up the heavy metal and play along with it in his
room. When it was nice out he would torture more people by practicing in
the fields next to the dorms. But seriously it's mainly backround noise to
me, most of the time I spend talking with friends and owners of cars that I
find intresting. Sunday they did have a band right next to our club tent,
but there was a lot of other things to do, the gimmick rally, autocross,
swap meet.

Now that you mention it the field meet was a little quiter this year. John
Allard didn't have his Allard with the big Cady motor in it down this year.
I'm suprised the guy isn't deaf.... (Is John still on the list?)

On a side note... the ABFM in Portland was bigger and better than ever this
year, more cars, more vendors. The event used to be run by the Jaguar
Owners Club, they were burning out on running it for the last 20 years. It
is now run by six of the british car clubs in Portland. This year was a
learning experience for all involved and hopefully it will only get better
in the years to come. The first meeting to plan next years meet is next
week!
