Hi all,
I just got done looking at an old Motor Trends magazine, and came up
with some interesting Ideas. The issue compared a new Viper, and an
original AC Cobra. I was impressed, the AC was right in there with the
Viper on almost all performance aspects, and better on a few.
Ok, that said, in an earlier issue I had read about lotus's new
"contender" equipped with a 3.5 twin turbo boasting 330 hp. ( I guess
thats the ole rover 8 huh ? ) Now here is the fun part, If I could get
a big enough hammer, and shoe horn, and I could slip ona them puppies
into my 71 midget... with out disturbing the delicate weight
balance, the pounds/ hp would match up with that of the AC Cobra !
Now I know the AC is an old car, but the numbers still add up better
than those of a LOT of current "sport cars" available on today's
market. Hmmmm, might even give the new Espirit a run for it's money :)
Just some thought food... and if someone was interested in getting
heritage Midget shells and lotus motors....I know it's not a New-A
but it would be worth serious consideration !
