Last Tuesday night my wides car was stolen right out of our driveway in the
middle of the night. Needless to say, she is rather upset about it all.

I discovered it missing the next morning when I was going to work.

I reported it missing at 7:55AM and it was reported abondoned at 8:15AM
that same morning. To make a long story short, it had the interior
completly gutted. It's a metal shell with wires hanging out on the inside.
They took all the emblems and items as such off the outside of the car and
took the fancy wheels. They also bent and broken the side pillars between
the two doors on both sides. It now sits on it's rotors looking pitiful in
the police impound lot.

We have been dealing with the Police, Insurance company (State Farm),
Rental Car agency, The C.U. where the car was financed, Police impound lot,
ever since this happened.

We have bought publications of all sorts on new and used prices on the
stolen car. We have a pretty good idea of what it's value is but...

We have never had a car stolen and we have never had to deal with the
insurance company on such a matter.

As a result we don't know if the car is a total or if they will try to fix
it up. We have ONLY heard that if the car is at or more than 60% of repair
cost in contrast to the total value of the car, then they total it. I say
it's totaled, who knows how the insurance co will deal with it.

If there is anyone out here that has been through this process recently,
Please give me a email or call and shed some light on whats about to happen
to us with the insurance company. I just don't know of anyone who has had
a car stolen and gutted and delt with the insurance companies.

Thanks,

Jay Quinn
