Bonnet pull cable length for MGB?

Thanks to all that emailed me, I was able to pop
the bonnet open through the grille. Boy I don't want
to do that again.

  I am hoping to replace the bonnet pull cable with
a generic one from a local auto store. Does somebody
have a cable to measure to see how long it should be? I
don't have the cable at all, although I think I see
where it was routed.
