If I remember correctly (no guarantee of that!), it was a Ford V8-60 (an
ancient flathead).  My first T-Type MG was a TD with a V8-60.  It was
poorly done, but a buddy and I got it for next to nothing while in high
school.  Never mind how long ago that was, but the fact that the TD was
not long out of production will put you in the right ballpark. It didn't
last long, but we had fun with it.
