Karim asked me if I knew of any good reference books for the
construction and history of building the MGB and GT.
The only book in my library that comes closest to showing more than one
or two pictures on the assembly line, as many of the books out there do,
is "Aspects of Abingdon". I realized that my book collection is missing
much of the real reference material I thought I had.
Surely over the factory's span in Abingdon, Cowley and Pressed Steel,
where the bodies were put together, there were hundreds of photos taken
showing the various processes, right? Where are they all?
How about knowing the correct way to install the dreaded chrome
finishing strips on GT front and rear windshields? I found one photo in
David Knowles 1965-1980 Book that actually had one man responsible for
this! How about fitment of the wiring, brake, gas and battery runs under
the car! Seen any good pictures lately explaining that? Sure, there's a
lot we figure out and pass along but there's alot missing.
The question for our group then is "What have you seen or come across
that presents a more in depth story as to how our cars came together"?
I am especially interested in the early 62-67 models, myself, as they
were the best ;>)

Cheers,
Dave Houser
