Hello Ray.  Remove the valve cover.  Rotate the engine in run direction.
Watching  number 1 rocker arms.  As number 1 intake valve closes.  The timeing
mark should being coming up.  Rotate engine until mark is a 0 degress on the
timing scale.
Now with the distrtor is installed.  The rotor should being pointing towards
number 1 cylinder.  Have your vacum advance unit pointing towards 1 o clock.
This will start the engine for strobe timing.    Good Luck  JOHN
