I am new to the list, so I am not out to make any enemies, however, I
have to side with stuart on this one....I bet the person who initially
responded to the "stupid" question is regretting it. The "listers" are
sure showing their true colors by saying that newcomers should get a
warm welcome, not a slap on the hand for such a small and easy question.
I myself have owned an MGB for 10 years and I am just restoring it. I
have NEVER heard that term used until I came across the list. It is a
term unique to the community. Give the guy a break. Listers, I am glad
to see that most agree. Hey...I don't even know what NOS means when
used in the context of used/new parts. Is that a stupid question? If I
put out that as a first question, and received that kind of snippy
answer..I would probably shrug it off being relatively thick skinned,
but I think we owe it to new members to have a little bit of slack.
Also, no offense to the writer of the retort.
I just learned yesterday that I am getting laid off.
If I was pissed at the time, I may have sounded off also, so some "slack
allowance to you too, sir.
I am so lucky to have this tool, and you and those responsible for its
existence deserve a hearty THANK YOU.

Just give the newbies a break.

Respectfully,
Kevin Richards
