A fellow lister asked recently about his drastic oil usage.
I've talked to him on EFNET #mg, and he didn't mention in the post that his
compression is 170 (!), with one cylinder showing 140....
This sounds very high, and I think he's blowing oil into all the wrong
places.
My B, on the other hand, is running VERY low compression numbers, but the
car runs very well (could be much better, obviously), burns ZERO oil, and
leaks only from the built in "drainage hole" on the bell housing (leaky
main).
130 or so is perfect is it not? Isn't there such a thing as "too high"
compression?
I'm thinking about getting a professional opinion on my engine, since it's
running so well. I'm thinking that the guage I used could be faulty.
Any opinions?
