Skye, the Brasso WILL dissolve the paint without hurting the chrome (I've
got some overspray too) but it takes a LOT of rubbing, let it soak for a few
secs then rub rub rub. If it's a lot, you might try the brasso with the felt
tip on a Dremel. If you don't have a Dremel (or twin) GET ONE!!! It's great
for what you and I are doing on our cars!
Also, the PB Blaster suggested for my manifold nuts is AWESOME. 100 times
better than WD-40 and worth the expense (twice what wd-40 costs). I found it
at a "Parts America", also heard its at NAPA. Easier for you if you just
call around. PB is well known to mechanics, but I heard about it on this
list.
Oil coolers were standard on later model CBs only (like my '73) and beyond.
