Just a quick update on the final phase of restoration. The carpet is
finally done. I've worked until midnight and once even 3:00 in the
morning getting installed as well as the new seat belts. All the
hardware for the tonneau and soft top has been replaced. Laying in the
trunk with the stupid light set up I have was MISERABLE. The only light
bulb I could get my hands on created enough heat to cook a roast in two
minutes flat. Have the new chrome wires and tyres on (man do they look
sharp). Took the bumper and knock-offs in to be re-chromed.

Next project is to remove the dash and clean all gauges. I have new
dash face replacement in Oregon getting wood overlays installed. The
door top rails will also be wood. They should be in next week.

Sorry to say but I am taking tonight off. I need the brake. But I do
plan on spending the whole three day weekend working on her.

Thanks for all the kind inquiries as to the progress. Sure is good to
know that people really are interested.

On the batteries, I haven't heard enough evidence to persuade me to
fight the SO on staying with the single 12V system and he is really
trying to make a contribution to my project. I have been pretty adamant
about doing this myself (I sometimes kick myself for this), so I feel
this is a fairly small consideration. Thanks for all the advice.

Take care folks and drive one for me!!!!
