totally non-MGB related, but interesting... I recently bought a older
Porsche ('88 924S) and it seems like it cranks a long time before it starts.
But I learned that it's normal. It takes three rotations of the engine
before the car even tries to start. The ignition/FI computer "calibrates"
itself on the first three rotations before it does anything.
