Nory,
are you sure it is not just the tie rod ends?  I don't think Spridget
racks are prone to wear.
If it is worn, it is probably worn around the straight ahead position,
because that's where it spends the most time.  If you adjust it a lot to
eliminate the play in the center, you might get binding when you steer to
full lock, because those areas of the rack are not worn.
Just a caution.
