One more note. Too narrow a mating surface will result in less heat
transfer from the valve head to the valve seat. This will cause the valve
head to overheat while driving at highway speeds, and can result in
dropping the valve head and punching out the piston. Been there, done that
(twice).
Moral of the story: Pay attention to the specs for valve seat width.
