Well, I took posession of my roadster today. She actually ran on a road
legally for the first time since 1985.
She did not, however, go home with me. The body shop delivered her with a
dead battery, and a stuck bonnet. It's going back to the bodyshop tomorrow
to see if the bonnet can be un-stuck. I'll also have them put the door
bolts I am getting from George Merryweather on as well.
This was the first time I brought the car up to speed. Scary thing was, the
battery was so dead, the car kept stalling. VERY scary to stall while
pulling out onto a semi-busy road. 25 feels like 50 in this car. It's so
odd to feel so low to the ground. You do really feel the speed in the car.
It seems to handle pretty well - I wasn't about to do a slalom with the car
in it's questionable condition, but it did seem okay.
I can't wait to show it off. I am planning on it's first "Public"
appearance at Doylestown, in October.
Oh well - I'll have pleasant MG dreams tonight!
