"Skinners Union" - it was formed early this century, i believe by some
form of leather
working types

the chrome on the wire wheels is peeling...does this mean
>they need to be recoated??...

There really isnt any way to rechrome wires - there are either 182 or 218
individual parts to each one - British Wire Wheel in California will
rebuild them but youre really better off buying new ones, if the spokes
are peeling, theyre likely rusty and eventually will fail - hard
cornering will likely do it!!!

how do i get the little granules of rust off
>the bumpers??.....

These are pits - where the chrome has rusted through - you cant really do
much about this either unless you have them rechromed - figure $200-250
for a front bumper and about $250-300 for a split rear - you can buy
aftermarket front bumper bars for under $100 but theyre generally crap.
If your split rear is straight, get it rechromed, there is no aftermarket
for these, or for the brackets. Scarborough Fair had some NOS drivers
sides earlier this year- might be worth a try
