Yesterday I picked up my new toy! The 1977 Midget is now in the driveway,
awaiting room in the garage. My son and I rented a tow dolly from U-Haul
($35.00). The Midget fit between the tire pans without riding up the sides.
No problem towing it with my son's '79 dodge pickup, an uneventful 50 miles or
so from Macungie (outside Allentown) to Abington, PA.

Now I will take my time thru the fall and winter months. I know I need to
rebuild the brake and clutch hydraulics, and replace the carpets. Then I will
start to look at what else needs to be done to make it run 100% (or close to
it). It should be ready for Solo II by the spring.

The 1500 engine is running but I have ordered a ColorTune and will pick up the
book on the Weber DGV carb. to make sure it is set correctly.

Tires are probably flat-spotted so I will have them all removed and take the 5
Rostyle wheels to be bead-blasted. Then I'll paint them and buy the new
tires. I have printed the tire/wheel size info that was posted on the list a
few months ago, so I have some information about what size will be best. When
I get closer to buying the tires, I may ask for some opinions from all of you.

My thanks to Scott Hower for selling me the car. It was amazing that I really
didn't want to look too closely at it, for fear I would talk myself out of the
deal. Scott has a beautiful late model MGB in his garage. Keep reading the
lists and I'll keep you posted on my progress, while I seek your help and
encouragement.

Thanks in advance,

Allen Hefner
