I am no expert and if you doubt it see my other postings :-)  But I thought
that the condensor what there to absorb (for lack of an electricly correct
term) the current until the points close.  My understanding is the if the
condensor is bad, there will be arcing at the points, which will cause
pitting.  Is this correct or am I missing something.
