There was a hard top called the 'Ashley Hardtop'  which gave the impression
of a GT. There are always the Lenham modified Midget & Sprites of course.
There was never a factory Midget GT. You can see some images of the above in

Funny you mentioned Ford V6, I had though about putting a 3.8L V6 in one
of mine, just to see if it could be done. But I would have probably gone
with the Buick, this way the distributor cap could be changed from under
the hood, not from the glovebox......

Mark Snowdon, and yes I do watch Home Improvement and grunt when tuning
engines...
