Merry whatever-it-is-to-you. It is Xmas eve here and was 36 degrees
here today (Celcius that is, 90-something in Farenheits) and just a
little warm to be stuck in Xmas shopping traffic with the sun beating
down on your head (nope, forgot the suncream and the cap).

It will be a little cooler on the day itself, so I am all revved up to
do my traditional Xmas drive along the beaches with my dog, her ears
flapping in the breeze, and then watch the sunset from a cliff
overlooking the sea... milkshake in hand. It is 'B heaven for me!

I have already bought my 'B its Xmas presents. A day off work meant I
have...

KILLED THE WOODPECKER! - I am now the proud owner of an SU fuelpump that
gives a barely audible <click> every now and then, if you listen very
closely. BOUGHT THE STEERING WHEEL! - Yep, went for the leather and
black spokes (thanks for all the opinons from the list). I went a
little smaller than I originally thought I would... 14 inch... but I am
rapidly getting used to it after my former TRUCK wheel (which now has
pride of place on my office wall). FITTED NEW FRONT EXHAUST PIPES! - To
replace the ones I crushed on some unsuspecting small rock - or cat.
Primrose now actually sound like an MG again!

Took the baby into my local specialista to check on things and make sure
nothing was going to fall off over Xmas and got the report that all was
well, except for...

Needed and replaced the Oil Guage Hose (leaking) and will need some
attention eventually to the worn front suspension (lower inner) bushes
and to some *minor* oil leaks from the Timing Cover Seal and Rear Main
Seal (buggerit) and from the rear GearBox Seal... but very minor (hands
up those with no oil leaks). I think I will drop in on Neil Cotty
next... as I suspected, I need to re-build my SU's (currently noted as
throttle shafts are worn).

January's shopping list is... new grill, re-chromed luggage rack and new
door trims and repaired seats (carpets are fine).

Now THIS is what Xmas is for!

PS Doing all this meant I have only replied to a few who have written
to me recently... give me a day or two :-)
