Philip,

I have to disagree about your public image comments, even if my evidence is
only anecdotal; most people hearing the words "Rover" will say "What?" or
say "Oh, like a Range Rover" while thinking prestige, at least, but perhaps
not reliability. If you say "MG" they'll say "oh, those crappy old things,
I thought they went under years ago". Now, before the flames start, let me
hasten to add that I don't agree with any of the "typical" public opinion,
but that is what it seems to be. Selling a Rover sedan next to Range Rovers
would be good marketing, selling an MG badged sedan next to BMW's would
not. The image and the floor traffic would not be conducive to sales.
That's my highly inexpert opinion.
