1) Remove the pedal return spring to make sure it is not wear at either end
of the spring that is causing the squeak. If it is, replace the spring with
a dab of grease where it attaches.

2) Remove the pedal cover, extract the pedal pivot bolt, lube the pivot
bushes and washers, reassemble everything.
