What year of car is this? My 74B had a very erratic starting problem.
Sometimes it would pop right off other times nothing. Problem appear
especially if it didn't catch right away, or if it had just been shut off
and then trying a restart. Drove me nuts until I discovered in the wiring
diagram the "little black Box" I think it is called a "sequential start
module" or something. Was supposed to work together with the switches in the
seats and on the seat belts so car would only start after safety equipment
was in place. Of course the seat switches and seatbelt switches were junk.
Pulled the plug on the box, removed it and used the mating connector to
jumper a few leads and have had not a bit of trouble since. One would have
to check the wiring diagram to see just which wires had to be jumpered. The
box was full of resistors transistors and spider carcasses... very unBritish
looking electronical stuff (didn't see any oil leaking from it at all <G>).
Good Luck
Eric
