Hi All,
When the discussion was going on a month or so ago about possible causes
of the indicator light flickering and staying on under load (electrical), I
professed a theory that may the problem could be resistance in the sense
circuit ( I was having the same problem with my '72).
Well I fixed the problem. I went through the system, measured
resistances, cleaned connections, replaced connections, and guess what?
It didn't fix a darn thing. Replaced the alternator guts and every body is
now happy and working properly. My little theory was full of it, and the
folks who said 'replace the alternator' were right all along.
  Oh well...
Harlan.
