MGB clean up

I have disassambled my 74.5 B except for the fenders. Idecided to clean the
engine compermant. I purchased a gallon of heavy duty degreaser and got out
my preassure washer, used the degreaser acording to derictions. Very little
of the grease and dirt was removed. I repeated the application again. Still
no satisfactory results. Does anyone have a better method of cleaning the
engine compartment?
