There is also a rubber seal on the sending unit plug. Wouldn't hurt to
replace that!

Subject: gas tank removal 77B

Alas, I have discovered that my tank is weeping a bit aroud the sending
unit. Not enough to drip just enough to seep. As the car is going for
rockers etc. very shortly I need to remove the tank. At least then I can
sleep without worrying about my body guy. His leg is already busted but
I don't want him to blow up.
I am giong to try tightening the sending unit nut with a hammer and
piece of 2x4. I f this is unsuccessful what should I look out for when I
remove the tank. Are the only lines, wires, etc. on the sending unit?
Then remove the bolts around the tank?
I may just remove it anyway just to be on the safe side.
Stupid part is that I realized there was a small leak but it was never
big enough to be bothersome.:-(
Any help is greatly appreciated.
