Your first problem sounds like air in the line - the clutch is a bit of a
beggar to bleed, take it back.

The shocks do not normally affect ride height, but if one or both have
seized they could stop suspension travel (having said that I suppose they
could seize in an 'up' or 'down' position and thus affect ride height).
Could be a broken spring, or seized trunnion or swivel pin bush, but both
sides would be a bit of a co-incidence.  Been doing a 'Dukes of Hazard'?
