I find that my MG not only doesn't like music that is too new, but also
doesn't especially care for American Music. Maggie runs best with "Cream" on
the tape deck. The Lucas gods even light the side clearance lights for
Clapton, Bruce and Baker. I can usually reach into the Beatles compendium
for driving music. Elton John, again earlier stuff, is OK. She does like
"Made in England" tho... An 80 watt amp and a couple of 6x9 3 way speaker
boxes on the rear shelf combat the road noise pretty well.
Maggie does protest about some of the more recent Rolling Stones stuff
and dies and will not start if she hears "Herman and the Mermits". So far I
have been lucky that only once has someone pulled up alongside at a
stoplight with their speakers blaring...I'm Hen-ery the eighth I am. Hen-ery
the eighth I am, I am, EWWWWWWEEEEE! Had to sacrifice a new fuel pump to
Lucas to get her over that one...
