hardware question

Ok all, I have a general question. On my '71B there are two chome-headed
bolts on the rear deck just forward of the trunk lid. Each bolt has a
plastic "tab" that says, "Lift Here". These are factory installed and I'd
love to know what their purpose is. For a hardtop perhaps? Thanks in
advance.
