I could use some technical advice here if anybody would like to help!

This is on my 1967 "B" Roadster....

I spent an hour and a half last evening connecting and disconnecting wires
somewhat "blindly" at the front of the car in an attempt to get the front turn
signals properly connected. The ignition was on and the flasher unit was
flashing pretty much the whole time. (BTW - I seem to recall that one can "burn
out" one's points this way - any truth to this?)

In the beginning only the rear worked and there was a "rapid" flash, with no
satisfying "click" and no corresponding light on the dash. At various times I
had the parking lights and rear-license plate lights flashing, etc. as I
experimented blindly. Finally I got the satisfying click and the front and
rear lights flashing properly by tracing wires, etc.

Trouble is - that only worked for a couple of minutes. After I got it working
it suddenly stopped. There is no response whatsoever now to the turn signal
switch - front or rear or dash.

I checked the 2 fuses in the fuse box under the bonnet (!) but is there another
fuse box that I may have overlooked?

Is it possible that once I finally got it working I burned out my flasher unit?
It was pretty hot to the touch.

Any "light" (pardon me) you can shed on the situation will be most appreciated!

And now for the two(!) quotes of the day...
