I'm not too well up on the later Bs but I believe o/d was an option on
more or less all cars.
The gear knob slide is the o/d switch; I have the same thing on my
Triumph 2.5PI, except it says, in/out.
If you're not used to o/d, it can be selected without the clutch on 3rd
and top gears. Just a hint, when selecting back into a direct gear, give
the car just a touch of throttle, as you would when changing down. This
stops the sudden reduction in gearing 'shunting' the driveline. This
way, it's not only more comfortable for you, it's also kinder to the
car.
